Carolyn Volee Kennington Timko, 82, of Newland, N.C. and formerly of Flat Creek Township, Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday December 27, 2021, at Watauga Medical Center, Boone, N.C. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Carl Pace Kennington and Margaret Hilton Kennington. She retired from the Lancaster County School District. Mrs. Timko was a member of Elloree Baptist. Her favorite pastimes were growing flowers, making crafts, home interior design and caring for her pets. She… is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John Timko, Jr.; 3 daughters, Carla (William) Faulkenberry, Martha (George Ray) Roberts, Kelly (Dirk) Singer; a son, Paul Wallace; a stepson, Doug Timko; 2 stepdaughters, Kelly (Mike) Larrea and Kasey (Tim) Howie; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and her special aunt, Betty King. A celebration of life graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C. The Rev. Bart Miles and Rev. Kirk Faulkenberry will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the cemetery and other times at the home of her daughter, Martha Roberts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Samaritans Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, N.C. 28607.
