Carl’s Obituary Carl Joseph Hartman, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021. He was born September 6, 1937 in Chippewa Township of Mecosta County the son of Herman E. and Laura I. (Branson) Hartman. A lifelong resident of the Barryton area, Carl graduated from Barryton Rural Agricultural High School. He went work in the Oil Fields and later at McClain’s Chevrolet as parts manager. He owned and operated Carl’s Farm Market in Barryton many years. He finished his working career as a Trapper for the DNR serving Mecosta, Clare, Isabella and Osceola counties, to name a few. Carl is survived four children, Theresa McMasters of Alpena, Penny Lee (Naaman) Huffman of Barryton, Veronica Mae Hartman of Leesburg, FL, Carl Joseph Jr. (Tami) Hartman of Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Renate) Hartman of Barryton, Ronald (Edi) Hartman of Stevensville; sister-in-law, Winnifred Hartman of Midland several nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darwin Hartman. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service at Flake Cemetery will be held in the spring of 2022.
