Billie Glen’s Obituary Billie Glen Perkins, age 89, of Idalou, and formerly of Amarillo, passed away on July 27, 2021 in Lubbock. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Idalou Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Idalou. Billie was born April 20, 1932, to the late Jeff and Mattie Perkins in Littlefield, Texas. He graduated from Littlefield High School, which is where he met his High School Sweetheart, Maggie Joyce Pickrell, and they were married in Clovis, New Mexico. He later attended Texas Tech and West Texas A&M, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. He worked for West Texas Gas, Pioneer Natural Gas and Pioneer Corporation for a combined 38 years. He served on the Board of Directors for the National Purchasing Agents Association, Transtate Tire Company, and Tascosa Country Club. He and Joyce were members of Paramount Baptist Church. They lived in Amarillo for 66 years before moving to Idalou. They spent a great deal of their retirement time fishing in Old Mexico. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maggie Joyce; his daughter, Tanya Wilson Sawyers; his brother, Douglas; and a sister, Melba Jean Byers. Those left to cherish Billie’s memory are his daughter, Rhonda De Busk and her husband Gary of Idalou; and his grandchildren, Logan and Lily Lutrick.
