Betty Sue Webber June 07, 1941 – November 18, 2021 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Betty Sue Curry Webber, 80, of Camden, SC passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Colonial at Old Camden, Camden, SC. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Rev. Brent Kendall and Rev. Jim Davis will officiate. Visitation will be at the church in John Knox Hall following the memorial service. Betty Sue Webber was born June 7, 1941 in Clover, SC to the late Joseph Judson and Martha Jackson Curry. After graduating from Clover High School (’59) and Winthrop College, she moved to Camden to teach English at Camden Junior High. After earning a master’s degree from Winthrop College, she taught English at Camden High School for many years, and ran a dropout prevention program. In 1978, Betty Sue was named Assistant Principal at Camden High School and later became Director at the Applied Technology Education Center (ATEC). She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years where she served in many roles including deacon, elder, Moderator of Presbyterian Women, Circle Leader, Sunday school teacher, and member of the choir. Betty Sue was actively involved in her community and was a constant presence at the Friday night football games. She was on the Board of Kershaw Medical Center, served as President of King Haigler Garden Club, belonged to several book clubs, acted with the Camden Players, and was a member of The Rotary Club where she was named a Paul Harris Fellow. Betty Sue was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Judson and Martha Jackson Curry, her sisters Sarah Burrell and Louise Morgan, and her brother, John William Curry. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Addison Quentin Webber and her sisters, Janice Osgood (Eben) of Orono, ME, Martha Jane Thomas (Carroll) of Charlotte, Judy Miller (Ralph), and Carolyn Nivens (Steve) both of Clover, SC, and brother-in-law Owen Morgan of Rock Hill, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Her sense of humor, warm smile, and infectious laugh will live on in the memories of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
