Betty Joe Barron Brown, 83, of Spartanburg, died Friday, January 15, 2021, at Spartanburg Medical Center. She was born October 27, 1937 in Price Hill, WV, a daughter to the late Joe and Viola Murdock Barron. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and was retired from the Spartanburg County Register of Deeds Office. Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Saul Brown; a son, Derek A. Brown (Pam) of Spartanburg; a daughter, Celeste A. Holcomb of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Cameron Brown, Ansley Brown, Megan Abbott, Ryan Holcomb, Cayla Pack and Kyle Robbins; a number of great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Fox of Prosperity, WV. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia L. Robbins; and a brother, Michael Barron. Graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Gary Hensley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist Church, 4268 N. Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
