Anna Mae Hostetter Rummel, 87, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021 at her home in St. Thomas, PA. Born on Friday, March 30, 1934 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Treva Baumgardner Hostetter. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frederick E. Rummel, who died in 2017. A 1952 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Anna was a former member of Grace United Church of Christ, where she was took part in various church activities, and was currently a member of the St. Thomas United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, but mostly loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Roy E. Rummel and his wife, Tina, of St. Thomas; two grandchildren, Nathan E. Rummel and his wife, Kelsey, of Greencastle and Megan L. Rummel of St. Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Pierce and Levi Rummel. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at Rest Haven Cemetery, at the corner of Westminster and Boundary Avenues in Hanover with The Rev. Candace Arnold officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spiritrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
