Agnes Jean Blaylock Brown, 89, died in Alabaster, Alabama on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was a retiree of Wal-Mart, where she worked for over 25 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Alabaster. Mrs. Brown was born September 17, 1931 in Lost Creek, Alabama to the late Thomas and Jeffie Blaylock. She was the baby of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Ray Brown; and nine of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include Mrs. Brown’s two children, Peggy (Don) Hanson and Wayne (Debra) Brown, all of Alabaster; four grandchildren, Cory (Catlin) Brown of Nokesville, Virginia, Sarah (Michael) Thompson of Hoover, Alabama, Marcus (Amanda) Brown of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Whitney Belk of Alabaster; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Ford of Greenwood Springs, Mississippi; two sisters-in-law, Grace Scott and Jane Brown, both of Greenwood Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. On Thursday, April 29, 2021, visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at New Center Point Free Will Baptist Church in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi, immediately followed by A Service of Remembrance for Agnes Brown at 12 noon at the church. Burial will be at Pickle Cemetery in Greenwood Springs. Memorial Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama directing.
