Obituary William L. Tuey, 75, of Godfrey died on Tuesday Sept. 29, 2020 at his home. Born in Rockbridge on May 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Vincent H. and Dorothy M. (Brooks) Tuey. He married the former Joan Vandersand on March 8, 1969 and she survives. Also surviving are his children: Charles W. (Jennifer Cochran) Tuey of Ashburn, VA, Jennifer (Chad) Knight of Godfrey, Joseph (Christa Torrisi) Tuey of Springfield, MO, 5 grandchildren: Tyson Knight, Michael Knight, Scott Knight, Sophia Knight and Rachel McCoy. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Pat Howard and a brother Charles E. Tuey. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for Amoco for 23 years. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. He loved to spend time with his family, tinker with tools and fix things and going on cruises. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John’s Catholic Church on Friday Oct. 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton that morning.
