Marie Ann Mattioli, 85, of Penns Grove passed away on September 17, 2020. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Mattioli was the daughter of Thomas & Phyllis (Paterna) Ruzzio. A member of St. Gabriel the Arch Angel Parish but, prior to its closing, she was a long time member of St. James RC Church and had also served as the secretary in the rectory for many years. Mrs. Mattioli was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, Mother of Grace, the Red Hat Divas, The Washington Club and the Woman’s Club of Penns Grove & Carney’s Point. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Leon; her three children, Michele Landew (Roger), Tom (Patrisia) and Mark (Patricia) Mattioli and six grandchildren, Dominique, Nicholas, Olivia, Tommy, Valentina and Cole. There will be a private family viewing held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM, which all are invited to attend on Tuesday as well, at St. Gabriel the Arch Angel Parish, 369 Georgetown Rd., Carney’s Point, NJ 08069. Burial will take place at Lawnside Cemetery following the mass. The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to a charity of one’s choice in Mrs. Mattioli’s memory.
