Jessica “Toogie” Cormier August 18, 1964 – September 26, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook CARENCRO ~ Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at a 6:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Jessica “Toogie” Cormier. Deacon Byrne Winn of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church will officiate at the services. Jessica “Toogie” Cormier passed away on September 26, 2020 at the age of 56 in her home, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Abbeville on August 18, 1964, and resided in Cankton most of her life, she was a great friend to all. She had such a loving and caring heart. She took pride in being a great mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandsons. They were her world, and they sure loved their “Nana”. She was a proud member of the APA (American Poolplayers Association). Some of her greatest memories came from competing with her team, the Slush Puppies, including playing in the National Championship in Vegas. She was a die-hard Saints fan through and through and never missed a game. She loved spending time with the people she cared about. Survived by her daughter, Natasha Menard and her husband, Wayne Menard; three grandsons, Kainan Melson, Kolton Menard and Kristopher Menard; one brother, Keith Cormier; her nephew and niece, Courtney and Alicia Cormier; three great nieces, Natalie Cormier, Vegas Jacquneaux, and Annabelle Cormier; her best friend, Vicki Benoit; and many family and friends. Preceded in death by her mother and father, Rayford and Lena Cormier; and her fiancé, Calvin Kidder. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. Wednesday until service time on Wednesday. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Acadian Hospice, Jeanette Broussard, Sheila Benoit, Amy Prejean, Melissa Roger, Denise Lavergne and Trina Lavergne for their love and care through her final days. In lieu of flowers, Jessica requested donations be made to The American Heart Association on her behalf. Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N.
