Graveside service for Mr. Jefferson Findley, 80, of Jacksonville, formerly of Saks, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Thacker Family Cemetery, 2154 Gilberts Ferry Road, Ohatchee, Alabama 36271. Bo Gardner will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the cemetery. Mr. Findley passed away September 17, 2020 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Findley and Lillian Henderson; grandson, Chuck Thacker; twin brother, Jack Findley. Mr. Findley was a native of Gadsden and a long-time resident of Calhoun County. He was a US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Saratoga. He was an avid golfer, having several holes-in-one at Cain Creek Golf Course; loved fishing, and was a lifetime member of the Bass Masters Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pearlie Findley; daughter, Andra Thacker; grandson, Nick Thacker; great-granddaughter, Adalyn Thacker; and several nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be sent to Disabled American Veteran’s (www.dav.org/donation).
