Dorothy Elizabeth Pearce, 89, of Jarrettsville, MD., formerly of White Hall, Md., passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Wendell R. Pearce who died December 28, 2006. Born in Hereford, Md., Dorothy was the daughter of the late Joshua Hanna, Jr. and Margaret (Stiffler) Hanna. She had been a homemaker, but volunteered in her community with Meals on Wheels as a delivery person. She was a faithful member of Vernon United Methodist Church in White Hall and belonged to their women’s groups. She enjoyed puzzles and birds. When she and her husband lived in Mexico City, she was involved with the children’s PTA. Surviving is a son, Jeffrey G. Pearce and his wife, Tammy L. of White Hall; 4 grandchildren, David W. price, Gary W. Pearce Jr., Morgan E. Pearce, and Aaron J. Pearce; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ann Hoffman and her husband, William of Hagerstown, Md.; and 4 nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by two children, Joan D. Price and Gary W. Pearce; two grandchildren, Thomas J. Price III and Amy M. Pearce. Services and interment are at the convenience of her family due to COVID-19.
