David E. Dahle, 83, of Northwood died Sunday, September 27, 2020 at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines. A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Kensett Cemetery with his nephew, Rev. Tim Nappe, officiating. Visitation and public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 1st Ave. South, Northwood, IA prior to the graveside service. David Eugene Dahle was born March 5, 1937 the son of Melvin and Edvina (Hanson) Dahle in Kensett, IA. David attended Kensett High School until 1955 when he entered the Army, serving in France and Germany. When David returned home in 1958 he began working at Boyette Construction Company and Farmland Packing Company in Albert Lea. Later, David worked at the Lutheran Retirement Home in maintenance for 20 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett. Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Carol (Donald) Nappe of Kensett and Jim (Sonya) Dahle of Northwood; sister-in-law, Barb Dahle of St. Louis Park, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and longtime friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, Melvin and Edvina; brothers, Gary and John Dahle; his half-sister, Betty Hedges; and half-brothers, Donald and LuVerne Helgeson.
