Alice Bowman Wilkins, age 95, died Thursday, 24 September 2020 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, after several years with kidney disease. Her oldest daughter, grandson and Hospice helpers were at her side. She is the daughter and youngest child of Parley Pratt Bowman and Ethel Perdetta Johnson and is a great grand daughter of Levi Newell Kendall a member of the Vanguard Company into Salt Lake Valley. She was born 13 August 1925 in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho. She lived in Cambridge and McCammon, Idaho and she graduated from McCammon High School. She played percussion section in the high school band and played the piano and organ at home. Her siblings and their spouses are all deceased: Marian (Karl) Romriell, Clinton, Harris (Leta), Berniece (Willis) Evans, Marietta (Ken) Wilkins. Mother was always active and a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a Visiting Teacher and sang soprano in the choir and Relief Society’s Singing Mothers. She served in the Young Women’s Organization and was a primary teacher for over 12 years. She married John Wilkins 27 May 1943 during WWII and divorced 1993. She married again in 2004 but divorced in 2013. She is survived by her five daughters: Jacqueline; Judy (Jay); Larraine (Ed); Christine (Mark); and Vickie and 17 grandchildren, 42 great grand children and 5 great great grandchildren. . She worked at jobs as needed like assistant custodian at the high school, plucking chicken feathers at the factory, building orange crates through the winter, cleaning homes and tending children. Services for Alice are Friday 2 October 2020 provided by Wiscombe Memorial and will be held at the Foothill 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Foothill Stake 1930 South 2100 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108 in Sugar House. The viewing is from 8:30 A.M. to 9:40 A.M. All are invited with masks and distancing. Family prayer 9:45 A.M. Funeral 10-11. Cleaning service is required . Those who could help after the funeral would be appreciated. Graveside service is at 2:00 P.M. at Malad City Cemetery, Malad, Idaho. Masks and distance of 6 ft required.
