Henry’s Obituary Henry “Vertie” Moss, 92, of Delano, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2020. He was born on August 1, 1928 to the late Amanda Hattie and James Moss. Vertie was a member of Patty Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with his family. Throughout life, Vertie enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb, able to grow anything. He enjoyed spending time on the river and making chili while watching the Vols with his friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie Perkins Moss; son, Ronny “Hoss” Moss; grandchildren, Chris Wilson and Lisa Morris; siblings, Athel Moss, Marcus Moss, Doyal Moss, Leonard Moss and Joe Moss. Survivors include his beloved daughters, Linda (Ted) Wilson and Connie Clave; grandchildren, Gene (Carol) Wilson, Hank Wilson, Heidi (Matthew) McKeown and Lee (Shellie) Harrison; great-grandchildren, Jackson Wilson, Aiden Wilson, Daniel Taylor, Cody Wilson, Wyatt (Katie) Wilson, Rachael McKeown, Garrett McKeown, Isabelle McKeown, Matthew Harrison, Elizabeth Harrison and Megan (James) Owens. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Minister Joe Guy officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens with family serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
