Obituary Mr. Chester Allen Clemons, 68 of Sharpsburg, husband of Mayor Dorothy Johnson Clemons went to be with The Lord August 20, 2020 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital, in Lexington. Born June 25, 1952 in Bath County he was the son of the late Harrison and Christine Botts Clemons. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother L.G Clemons, and one sister, Wanda Lee Jones. Chester is survived by his wife of 46 years, and two sons, Terence (Alisha) Clemons and Chadwick (Stephanie)Clemons. Other survivors include three brothers, Howard Clemons, James Walter Clemons, and Bobby Joe Clemons. Three sisters, Janice Potts, Shirley Wilson, and Bertha Boyd. Four Grandchildren, Kaleb, Brayden, Madison, and Jordyn Clemons and several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family. He was a Laymen at the Greater First Baptist Church, a member of the male choir, and the Greater First Baptist Choir. When it came to sports, he was an avid U of L fan, and enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, and the LA Lakers. Chester was a 20 year employee of the Montgomery County School System, and worked 16 years at Hobart Manufacturing. He was known for his laid back personality, and loved his family and church family. His Grandchildren, were the love of his life. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral home, with the Reverend Gary Boyd officiating . Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are; Terrence Clemons, Chadwick Clemons, Kaleb Clemons, Brayden Clemons, Timothy Potts, and David Wilson. The Mapleton Elementary School Staff will serve as honorary pallbearers. The Richardson Funeral Home in Owingsville, is caring for all arrangements for Mr. Chester Clemons. COVID-19 restrictions as set forth by the state will be observed.
