Obituary Roger Dale Wooten, 72, of Central, died Saturday, June 27, 2020, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born September 18, 1947, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Jacob O’Dell Wooten and Mabel S. Wheeler Wooten. He was self employed in the livestock trade, was an auctioneer, was a recycling service provider, and was a member of Mt. Zion Community Church near Mauckport. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step son, David Steiner; his brothers, Jacob O’Dell Wooten, Jr., Marvin O’Dell Wooten, Marshall Allen Wooten, and Rodney Leon Wooten; and his sisters, Cecelia Ann Kitchem, Patricia Louise Mamner, Priscilla Rose Purvis, and Delores Marie Moore. Survivors include his wife, Dorris J. Carver Wooten; his sons, Roger Wooten, Jr. (Wendy) of Corydon and Benjamin Wooten of Indiana; his daughters, Christine Shaffer (James) of Corydon, Carla Stepro (Jerry) of Corydon, and Crystal Wooten (Shawn) of Mauckport; his step son, Bill Steiner of New Middletown; his brother, Melvin Wooten of Columbia Kentucky; his sisters, Doris Bachman (David) of Corydon and Marilyn Sneed (Dale) of Columbia; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Gilbert Duley will officiate. Burial will be in Hyland Cemetery near Mauckport. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
