Queenie Lee Bruce August 25, 1941 – June 15, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View Photo Galleries| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Queenie Lee Bruce was born August 25, 1941 to the late Harvey Lee Gates and Mary Frances Ervin Gates in Pine Mountain, Georgia. She united with Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age, but later became a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. On August 17, 1974, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Lynell Bruce. Mrs. Bruce served as a House Keeper for over thirty years. On Monday, June 15, 2020; our beloved Queenie passed away in Montgomery, Alabama. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Lynell; she was preceded in death by two daughters: Martha Bruce and Carolyn Bruce; siblings: Roger Lee Gates, Willie West Gates, James Gates, Render Gates, Mary Alice Gates, Ellis Gates, and Henry Gates She leaves to cherish her memories, her grandchildren: Jeremie Towns, Teneisha Towns and LaToya (Davis) Hollowan of Montgomery, AL; Brandon Towns, Courtney Towns Smith, Kristan Towns Zachery, Deon Davis and Xzavier Davis of LaGrange, GA; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Zackery (Eli), Mahalia Frazier (Haliee), Kingston Zackery, Ja’Nahvia Davis, Massiah Smith all of LaGrange, GA and Jusiah Hollowan of Montgomery, AL; siblings: Pete Gates, Johnnie Ray (Mildred) Gates and Nathaniel Gates of LaGrange, GA; Leonard (Angelia) Gates of Phenix City, AL and Shirley Ann Gates of Columbus, GA; and I host of nieces and nephews: great nieces and great nephews and other relatives and friends both near and far.
