Frances Walker July 04, 1939 – May 25, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Frances Laverne Walker was born to the late Pearl Louise Walker and the late Bill Hinksman on July 4, 1939 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Frances affectionately known as “Frankie” to family and friends, suddenly entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2020 at 10:30am. She was educated in the New York City Public School System. As Frankie grew to adulthood, she worked, partied and really enjoyed life along with her siblings and some close friends. Frankie’s favorite color was yellow…and she made it known that she hated flowers! But, Frankie loved to dance and she loved music, especially Doo Wop music and other soul groups. WOW! But, when you heard the song “Midnight Train To Georgia”, by Gladys Knight & The Pips, you’d think of Frankie, and how she would play that one song over and over, all night long! She also loved The Chi-Lites and would go see them perform live whenever she could. Despite all of that, prior to becoming a mother, she’d gotten plenty of experience, by helping her mother with her younger siblings, as well as helping her sister Barbara raise her child Deborah, her niece from a baby for some years. It was then, she realized that being a mother was what would make her the happiest. Frankie doted on all of her children and was a very good mother and spoiled them to no end. Frankie will be missed and still loved by many. Frances is preceded in death by: two sons, Mark Anthony Munford and Kevin Edward Munford; four brothers, Robert, Herman, William and John; six sisters, Ethel, Pearl, Marcella, Sadie and Brenda; four brothersin- law, Speedy, Lang, Michael and Ray. Frances is survived by: four daughters, Monique, Susie, Deana and Nitasha; eight grandchildren, Kevin Jr., TaShawn, Tyreke, Kevin, Kyle, Kiara, Essence and Brielle; three great-grandchildren, Egypt, Skyla and Kyng; two sisters-in-law, Eva and Edna; one son-in-law, Archie; four godchildren, Johnny, Barbara, Janice and Tony; four sisters, Barbara, Ida, Mari and Tonya; one brother, David; lastly, three extended family members who loved Frances beyond words, Shelley Thompson, Nicole Brown and Eric “Dobe” Fowler; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
