Eric Jermaine McEnheimer May 8, 1978 – June 9, 2020 On June 9th, 2020, God so serenely took His angel, Eric Jermaine McEnheimer to his heavenly home in glory. He was born on May 8, 1978, to Arthur C. McEnheimer and Bertha T. McEnheimer. He grew up in Truevine, “the birthplace of mankind.” Eric confessed Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. He was very active in Sunday School and the Pigg River Sunday School Convention where he won first place in their oratorical competition two years in a row. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1996 and attended Radford University. While in school, he met his life-long friends Lamar, Kermit, Marvin (M.D.), Jamal, and Tony. If you knew Eric, you knew his work ethic and how dependable he always was. He spent many years at Haley Toyota doing what he loved and detailing cars in his spare time. From there, he continued his career at Westport where he met amazing colleagues. Eric always put family first. He cherished his time at family cookouts and family get togethers. Christmas in Truevine was his favorite. All of his aunts, uncles, and cousins gathered to open gifts and enjoy a family meal. From his mom’s fried chicken and tenderloin to Aunt Brenda’s cornbread, he always brought containers for food to take home! While he loved the food, dessert was his specialty. He loved his mother’s banana pudding and Aunt Betty’s pound cakes. In 2012, he met the love of his life, Kaitlin Driver. They spent six years together before getting married on New Year’s Eve 2018. They wanted to bring in the New Year with their love, surrounded by their family and friends. The years they spent together were the best years of their lives and memories that will last a lifetime. Not only did Eric love his wife but he also held a special place in his heart for his in-laws (Billy, Kathleen, David, and Daniel) and her group of friends. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Florida State football games, bowling, fishing, kickball, and baseball. He loved watching his niece and nephew participate in sporting events, as well as his friend’s children. If you knew Eric, you knew he was selfless, compassionate, and knew no strangers. He never forgot a special occasion and would usually be the first one to acknowledge the important date. Eric had a smile that lit up the entire room. He radiated positivity that made people want to be around him. Proceeding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Miles and Roberta Tolliver and great grandparents, Phil and Hattie Muse; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Rebecca McEnheimer, and great grandparents, Silas and Sarah Wingfield; one uncle, “Dr. J” Eugene Young, and his loving brother, best friend, mentor, and hero, Tyron “T” McEnheimer. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Kaitlin McEnheimer, parents Arthur and Bertha McEnheimer, father and mother-in-law Billy and Kathleen Driver, sister-in-law Tina McEnheimer, two brothers-in-law David (Samantha) Driver and Daniel (Emily) Driver, one niece, Tyra “Monkey”, one nephew, Tyrel, a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, life-long friends, and a special pet, Stewie. A graveside service will be held at Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 11:00am at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 4025 Truevine Rd., Rocky Mount, Va 24151. In leiu of flowers please donate money to Truevine Baptist Church.
