Captain Terrance “Terry”‘s Obituary Captain Terrance “Terry” M. McGuire, 73, of Bayfield, WI, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at his home. He was born June 19, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of James and Elizabeth (Bourgerie) McGuire. Terry graduated from high school and went on and received an Associates Degree for an electrician from Dunwoody. He also served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. Terry was a journeyman electrician and was a member of the Local 292 Electrical Workers Union. In 1980, he founded the first Sailboat Company, in Bayfield, the Catchun-Sun Charter Company. He operated the business until 2018. Terry was a Captain and carried a Master’s license. He enjoyed sailing, cooking, travelling, and wintering in the Caribbean and Ocala, FL. He is survived by his loving sister, Sheila Hannon; a brother, Timothy H. (Becky) McGuire; two nieces, Shawna Goldammer and Kelly Smetana; three nephews, Devin McGuire, James Hannon, and Bill Hannon; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a beloved niece, Colleen Hannon. Private family services will be held in the Fort Snelling Cemetery, in Minneapolis.
