Patricia’s Obituary Mrs. Patricia Anne Mawyer (“Pat” to family and friends) passed away on May 10, 2020 after a brief struggle with cancer. Pat was loved by everyone who knew her for her sparkling personality, her fabulous smile, and her caring attitude. It was often said that Pat was the Sara Lee of people – “nobody didn’t like her.” She was born on April 28, 1940 in Altavista, VA. In seventh grade she met the love of her life, Buddy Mawyer. They were boyfriend and girlfriend for years, and they finally married in 1965. Pat and Bud spent 55 wonderful years together in Alexandria, Suwannee, and Blairsville, GA. Buddy predeceased her by a mere seven months, and everyone who knew them as a couple agree that they just couldn’t stand to be apart. Pat will be sorely missed by her legion of friends in Georgia & Virginia. Pat is survived by her son, Rob and his wife, Debbie of Blairsville and her sisters, Betty Bowers and her husband, Al, of Richardson, TX. Due to COVID-19, no local services or visitations are planned. A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 14, 2020 at 11:00am from the Norvelle Family Cemetery in Covesville, VA. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements. You may sign the family guest book and send condolences online at www.mountainviewfuneralhome.com Read More
