Ronald’s Obituary Ronald Stephen Morrison, 71 of Paxton, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton Senior Living. There will be no services at this time. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements. Ron was born August 19, 1948, in Chicago the son of Kenneth and Virginia Haenig Morrison. He married Sherrie Harris June 3, 1979 at the Paris United Methodist Church. She survives. Along with his wife, Sherrie, he is survived by four sons, Christopher (Jordan) Morrison, Sean (Randi) Morrison of Goodfield, Zachary (Michelle) Morrison of Champaign, Adam (Westley) Morrison of St. Petersburg, Florida and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-sister and a half-brother. Ron graduated from Paris High School in 1966. He received a Bachelors Degree in Forestry from the University of Illinois and a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Eastern Illinois University. He worked for Brent Deem Construction in Paris; taught Math at Crestwood Jr. High School, Paris and from 1987 until his retirement in 2009, he taught chemistry and physics at Paxton High School/PBL High School. He was a member of the Paxton First United Methodist Church. Ron enjoyed walking, hiking and Yahoo Answers. He loved teaching and will be remembered for his quick wit and ability to bring science to life. Memorials may be made to the Paxton First United Methodist Church.
