Henry’s Obituary Mr. Henry Knight Mettier Sr. age 90 of Yonah Way Blairsville passed away peacefully on Saturday May 16, 2020 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Mettier was born on February 12, 1930 in Boston, MA., the son of the late Stacey Mettier Sr. and the late Mildred Metzger Mettier. Henry was a veteran of the US Air Force of the Korean War. He was a world class sailor and was a longtime member of the Bohemian Club and the St. Francis Yacht Club. He was a very avid dominos player. He was preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine Janson in 2002 and his last wife, Mildred Metzger Mettier in 2018 and a brother, Dr. Stacey Mettier Jr. Mr. Mettier was of the Christian faith. Surviving Mr. Mettier are one daughter, Constance Mettier of Larkspur, CA., one son, Henry Mettier Jr. of San Diego, CA., five grandchildren, Clifford, Jack, Christopher, Ken and Tara Mettier, two great grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends also survive. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Sea Scouts in memory of Mr. Mettier. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
