Don was born in St Louis, MO to Earl and Leona [nee Murphy] Sanderson. He graduated from Southwest High School. He was married to his wife, Melinda [nee Repp] Sanderson, for 41 years who survives in the home. Also surviving are four daughters: Kelly Sanderson, Chriss [Tony] Johnson, Shelly [Bruce] Snider, Nikki Sanderson; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three canine friends: Yadi, Roscoe, and Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Pat, June, Dorothy; two brothers: Jerry and Buddy; and three previous canine friends: Fay, Paco, and Bonkers. Don was a policeman in Maplewood and Marlborough for fifteen years, and retired as the Maintenance Supervisor for Lakeside Center. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals and Blues, playing poker, and going to the casinos, but he most enjoyed his daughters and their families. Services will be Tuesday June 2, 2020 at Bellerive Gardens Indoor Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 am – 11 am; with the Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 am. Inurnment at Bellerive Outdoor Mausoleum. Immediately following the Inurnment, the Celebration of Life will continue informally at the home of Tony and Chriss Johnson: 7418 Steam Valley Court, St. Louis, MO 63129 until 9:00 pm. Come and enjoy some food and drink and share your stories and happy memories. You are free to come and go at your leisure. Memorial contributions may be made to Stray Rescue in Don’s memory.
