He was born on July 8, 1963, to Benjamin O. Smith and Mildred Brown Petering in Eagle Lake, Texas. He married Cyndi Ann Schulte on Nov. 22, 1986, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, TX Rusty is survived by his Wife; Parents; Son Russell Lee Smith Jr. & wife Josie; 1-Brother Marty B. Smith & wife Pam of Anchorage, Alaska; 4-Sisters Cynthia Ann Yuen & husband Wayne of Emmett, Idaho, Shannon Lynn Stilwell & husband Andrew of Cypress, TX; Aimie Elizabeth Jones & husband Jason of East Bernard, TX, and Kimie Suzanne Smith of Houston, TX; Grandchildren Ashton, Jodeci, and Danico; and by numerous nieces and nephews Rusty was preceded in death by; his Grandparents; Father In-law Ernest Schulte and Step-father Carl Petering. Graveside Service: 2 pm, Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Willow Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 11 am, Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home Pallbearers: Dale Hennke, Reid Hennke, Hayes Hennke, Brian Tesch, Alan Rother, and Anthony Mizera. Memorials: Donor’s choice.
