Obituary Petra C Gomez, 71 of Silver City passed away February 3, 2020 at Gila Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. Petra was born July 23, 1948 in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Juan and Luz (Granillo) Carbajal. A lifelong resident of the area she was a member of St. Francis Newman Center. She enjoyed cooking for all her family and friends. Petra especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will certainly be missed by all her family and fiends. Petra is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Tomas Gomez; daughter, Patricia Medina (Mike); sons, Jose Gomez (Renee) and Daniel Gomez (Jessica). 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas, Anthony, and Amber Gomez, Chelsea Medina, Andrew Arroyo, Stephanie Villa, Valerie Arzaga (Thomas), Vanessa Martinez, and Danielle and Elena Gomez; 14 great grandchildren, Michael Gomez, Arecley Anastacia and Joseph Giron, Annaleissa Jaurequi, Issac Martinez, Alexiyah and Aydan Villa, Dominick Rivera, Angelo Arroyo, Izellah and Azlynn Arzaga, Izayden and Azriella Gonzalez; one brother, Manuel Carbajal; three sisters, Ramona Carbajal, Socorro Holguin, and Margarita Franco (Ramon); three brother-in-laws, Ignacio Gomez (Deana), David Gomez and Alex Gonzales. Also surviving Petra are many nieces and nephews. Petra was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Helen Gomez and sister-in-law Rose Mary Gonzalez.
