Obituary Marian B. Hannaford Of Arlington Heights Marian B. Hannaford was born on May 8, 1919 in Oak Park, Illinois to George and May (nee Bishop) Baynes. She died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hannaford lovingly ran the school cafeteria from 1959 until 1979 for all the elementary children of South School in Des Plaines, Illinois where she was a life-long resident. She and her husband, Howard, were founding members of St. Em’s Gems, a senior group, at St. Emily’s Catholic Church. Marian was a resident of Luther Village in Arlington Heights, Illinois for over 23 years. She was an Ambassador there, involved in numerous activities. Marian was a world traveler well into her eighties always interested in seeing the sights and meeting people. Marian is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (late David) Bachmann, her grandchildren Jennifer (Randy) Fischer and Jeffrey (Ashlee) Bachmann and her great-grandchildren, Caden, Camden and Cohen Bachmann. She is survived by her nephews, Michael, Steven and Ted, whom she adored and their many children and grandchildren. Marian made lifelong friends wherever she went. Her friends are too numerous to count and were greatly appreciated for the joy they brought into her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Howard Hannaford, her parents and sister, Geraldine (late James) Wentink and her nephew, Peter Wentink. Visitation Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon, at St. John the Beloved Chapel located at Lutheran Home & Services, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Graveside committal services will take place on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10:00am at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
