Larry’s Obituary Our beloved Father and Grandfather Larry Blackburn, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2020 at his home in Cedar City, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 25, 1945 in Kanab, Utah to Lester and Dola DeMille Blackburn. Larry joined the Army in October 1962 and served his country until October of 1965. Soon after returning from the service, he met Jeannie Johansen, the love of his life. They married on June 24, 1965 and were later sealed for time and eternity in the St. George LDS Temple on May 22, 1977. He worked in the construction industry most of his life. Many of the buildings and churches in Southern Utah and surrounding areas have been touched by his hands. Larry loved wood working and most days you could find him in his garage listening to music and making his beautiful creations. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting deer with his sons. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie; his children, Lori Blackburn of St. George, Michael Blackburn of Cedar City and Garry (Jennifer) Blackburn of Cedar City; his special grandchildren Brizi Blackburn (Tyler Billiot), Grant Blackburn, Garen Blackburn and Chalese Blackburn; his sisters Helen Willden of American Fork, Lilly Harris of Lehi and his brother Dee Perry of Payson Utah. Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents and brothers Lester Paul Blackburn, Charles Blackburn and Ferr Blackburn. Funeral Services in his honor will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00am at the Cedar LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 155 East 400 South, Cedar City, Utah. Visitations will be held Saturday from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Chapel. Interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
