Donald’s Obituary Donald G. Brown was born on January 22, 1936 to Leo and Dorothy (Farenholtz) Brown at their home in Chambers, NE. He was raised in the Chambers area and graduating from Chambers High School. He married Eileen Osborne on November 26, 1958 in Atkinson, NE. They resided in the Atkinson area for most of their marriage until moving to Fremont, NE in 2007 to be closer to their children. They were the parents of six children and the grandparents of 13, and great grandparents of 8. Donald held several different jobs throughout his career that included working on the Grossnicklaus farm and moving to Schuyler to work for Culligan’s. From there he moved to Atkinson with Eileen working for Peterson’s Farms, and becoming the farm manager for National Farms. Closing out his career he was a road maintainer operator for Holt County. Donald was also in the Nebraska National Guard for 7 years. Donald loved the sport of car racing in which he personally participated, especially sprint car racing. He also loved hunting, and attending most of his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Don was a social butterfly and anybody that he met fast became his friend. On February 27, 2020 Donald passed away in Fremont, NE after fighting a long courageous battle with cancer. He has greatly missed his wife, Eileen, the past six years, and they are now reunited in heaven. Donald is survived by his children Dottie Anderson of Waterloo, NE, Daniel Brown and wife Jody of Blair, NE, Monte Brown and wife Jenise of Omaha, NE, Jerry Brown and wife Jayma of Oakland, NE, Jason Brown and wife Danielle of Omaha, NE, and Joel Brown and wife Valerie of Omaha, NE, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen, brother Bob, sisters Lois and Leona, his parents and grandparents. Memorials are requested to the United Methodist Church of Atkinson, Nye Legacy of Fremont, and the American Cancer Relay For Life. Read More
