James Stefanis, 76 of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, New Jersey. Born Monday, May 3, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Nicholas and Antigonne Stefanis. James attended Midwood High School. He would meet the love of his life Georgette Zangakis, while attending church services in Brooklyn. The couple would marry and move to Old Bridge, NJ, where they resided for 32 years. They recently moved to Lakewood. James worked in sales. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Football, and was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed traveling with family and friends, and making trips to his favorite casinos. He will be missed by all those that loved him. James was predeceased by his son Aris Stefanis, by his parents, Nicholas and Antigonne Stefanis, and by his brother Anthony Stefanis. James is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Georgette, his loving daughter Andrea Stefanis, caring niece and nephew Nick and Olga Stefanis, and by his caring cousins, Paulette, Peter, and Carol Poulos. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
