Obituary Carolyn Sue Townsend, age 77, of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Elwood Health and Living. She was born on August 27, 1942, to the late Emery and Ida (Hewitt) Luzadder. She was married to Robert Gene “Bobby” Townsend. Carolyn retired from General Motors where she worked in production for over 30 years She enjoyed making crafts and especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Carolyn was a private person and kept mostly to herself and her good friends and family. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Carolyn is survived by 4 children, Susan Townsend, Brian Troutman, Angie Losier, and Dennis Wines, sister Pam Berg, several grandchildren including her grandson, Chad Weileman whom she helped raise, and her special friend Dale Hoppes. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Emery Gail and Ida Mae Luzadder, husband, Robert Gene Townsend, daughter, Marcie Sowers, sister, Patsy Bollinger, and brother, Phil Luzadder. A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Clifford Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the funeral service at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1313 S. Anderson St. Elwood, IN 46036.
