William ‘Bill”s Obituary William Edward ‘Bill’ Keir, 80, of Morgantown, died Thursday, January 9, 2020, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Bill was born on April 13, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA a son to John and Philamina Rafaella Keir. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He enlisted as a young man and served for more than 12 years. He was honorably discharged in 1968, having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Bill worked in restaurant management for many years in an around the Morgantown area until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mrs. Vickie Thomas Keir; two daughters, Christina Melendez, of Currituck, NC; Jodie Straughn and husband Troy of Pittsburgh, PA; two sons, William E. ‘Billy’ Keir and wife Charity of Morgantown and Scott Keir and wife Corrine of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Danielle Haley, Karmyn Davis, Cameron Haley, Hannah Melendez, Gage Wolfe, Jadon Melendez, Grace Melendez, and Jacob Keir. Also, surviving are three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jack and Frank Keir. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 from 4 until 8 pm and again on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 10 am until time of services at 11 AM with his son-in-law Rev.
