Obituary Mr. Wilbur Thomas Massengill, Sr. 84 of Smithfield passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family Thursday, January 23, 2020. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Four Oaks United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Joey Yow and Hart Edmonds. Burial will follow in Juniper Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. @ Four Oaks United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall prior to the funeral service. Survivors of Mr. Massengill include his wife, Betsy Barefoot Massengill of the home; sons, Wil Massengill and wife Kary of Wilmington; James Massengill and wife Valerie of Raleigh; grandchild, Lily Massengill “His Little Precious” several nieces and nephews. Mr. Massengill is preceded in death by his parents; James T and Vonnie Massengill, 5 sisters; Ruby, Lois, Eula, Ruth and Nettie.
