W.’s Obituary W. H. McFerrin, Jr. W. H. McFerrin, Jr., age 84, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at his home. Mr. McFerrin was born December 17, 1935 in Fouke, Arkansas. He was formerly employed with the Texarkana Post Office, Lone Star Ammunition Plant, and with the Corps of Engineers working on the dams at Millwood, Gillham, Dierks in Arkansas; Hugo Pine Creek and Waurika in Oklahoma prior to working on the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway in Mississippi. He retired from Red River Army Depot. W. H. enjoyed working with the Amateur Ham Radio, driving and delivering cars for dealerships, crossword puzzles, lawnmower repair and traveling. He also enjoyed old westerns, animal kingdom shows, car races, and watching the University of Arkansas ballgames and playing computer games in his spare time. He was a member of Franklin Drive Church of Christ. He graduated from Arkansas High School in 1954 and attended Texarkana College. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt and Mabel Crank McFerrin. He is survived by his wife, of forty-nine years, Pat McFerrin, of Texarkana, Arkansas, one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and James Dowell of Texarkana, Arkansas, one granddaughter, Madalyn Dowell of Texarkana, Arkansas, a host of friends and other relatives. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Texarkana, Dr. Stan Griffin and Dr. James Hurley for all the great care they gave to W. H. McFerrin during his illness.
