Obituary Violet Arneda Fry, passed away Wednesday, 15 January 2020. She was born 29 July 1937 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Okla and Lillie (Yates) Anderson. Violet spent her childhood in Arkansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1955. In August 1956 she married Gordon Fry. They lived in Arkansas City until 1979 when they moved to Coffeyville, Kansas. She worked as a dental assistant for 25 years. While in Arkansas City, she worked for Dr. Robert Starr and Dr. Daniel Snowden. While living in Coffeyville, Violet worked for Dr. Monte Clumsky. In 1990, she and Gordon moved to Parsons, Kansas. They returned to Coffeyville in 1996 and to Arkansas City in the spring of 2006. She is survived by her husband Gordon, son James and Deb Fry, Arkansas City, son Aaron and Anita Fry Universal City, Texas and daughter Arneda and Bob Shelton, Olathe, Kansas. She has six grandsons and one granddaughter, Micah Fry & Ruy Vaz and Nathan Fry, Arkansas City, AJ and Teresa Fry, New Braunfels, Texas, Matthew & Brooke Fry, Jacob Fry, Austin, Texas and Michael and Jeffrey Shelton Lawrence, Kansas. She has one great granddaughter, Lena Kate Fry, niece Laynne Fisher, Sawyer, Kansas and nephew Andy & Jane Eckley, Sublette, Kansas. She is proceeded in death by her parents and two sisters Winnie Fisher and Bessie Eckley. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, 21 January at 10:00 am, at Shelley Family Funeral Home, Arkansas City, Kansas. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. The casket will be closed and a register book will be available to sign on Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Fry’s name with the Alzheimer’s Association.
