Obituary Thomas “Toby” Rowland, 60, of Salem, NE, passed away January 19, 2020 at Omaha, NE. He was born March 17, 1959 at Falls City, NE to Charles and Doris (Gill) Rowland. He married Connie Gilbert on July 19, 1986 at Salem. Toby was raised at Salem and graduated Dawson Verdon High School in 1977. Following graduation he moved to Golden City, MO and worked as a diesel mechanic. In 1991 he began schooling in the area of diesel technology. In 1992 they moved back to Salem and he worked for Firestone and then became an owner/operator over the road truck driver. He became ill in July of 2017 and had to retire. Toby is survived by his wife, Connie of Salem, daughters, Nikki Rowland of Topeka, Natasha Rowland and her partner Ty Larson of Falls City, brothers, Richard of Salem, Kevin of Craig, MO, sisters, Patty Miller of Ohiowa, NE, Judy Rowland of Fairmont, NE, Brenda Rowland of Falls City, grandchildren, Megan Rowland, Jedda and Jase Smith, Alexis Wittwer and Haylee Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael and a sister, Roxanne Burns. His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery at Salem. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
