Theodore “Teddy” M House October 19, 1947 – January 16, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card The unforgettable moment in time was October 19, 1947. It was then that God saw fit to bless the world with the man, the myth, and the legend that would become to be known as Theodore Michael House. Theodore was born at Homer G. Phillips hospital to his beloved parents Maxine and Theodore House. Teddy, as he was lovingly called, was a character from the start. Teddy accepted Christ at an early age, he was very spiritual and always thankful. He may not have physically attended church often, but on Sunday morning you would always hear Joel Osteen & The Lakewood Church blasting from his television. Teddy graduated from Soldan High School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1966. After graduation, Teddy enlisted in the United States Army and bravely served his country. Teddy was a decorated paratrooper, member of the Air Strike Team, one of the eight infamous Green Beret’s, as well as a member of a 3-man special operations unit. Teddy served two tours in Vietnam and received numerous awards, medals, and citations including the National Defense Service Medal, Gold Vietnam Service Medal, National Honor of Overseas Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/Valor, and a Parachutist Badge of Honor. Teddy was honorably discharged from the Army but remained active in Veteran’s Affairs until the time of his passing. Teddy was preceded in death by his father Theodore Albert and siblings Alma Jean Burke, Diane Albert, Robert Lee Harris, and Percy Harris. Teddy leaves behind a family legacy including his Mother Maxine Albert; siblings Marilyn (Richard) Deavens of Omaha, NB; Jaqueline Cunningham, Mary Ann (Thomas) Albert, and Tyrone Albert of Gurdon, AR; and a niece raised as a sister Jeanene Albert-Sherrod of St. Louis, MO; a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; an Army legacy that withstood the test of time and an energy that we will never forget.
