Obituary Steven Ernest Essick passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 62. He was born to Anthony and Shirley (Sitzenstock) Essick on May 3, 1957, in San Antonio, TX. He was a graduate of Holmes High School and later attended Texas A&M at College Station. He returned home and joined his father in his building and remodeling business. While Steve led the framing crew for several years, his vision for the company led to the expansion into custom home building. Eventually, Steve took over completely. He has been recognized for his custom home designs, as well as his remodeling and commercial projects. Steve played as hard as he worked. His absolute favorite pastime was fishing. He loved traveling to Cabo, as well as entertaining and cooking. His generosity and loyalty to his friends and family was unlimited. Steve is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Michael Essick and his wife, Cheryl, of Boerne; his sister, Laurette Vinton and her husband, Paul, of Helotes; his ex-wife, Deborah Essick of Canyon Lake and his step-daughter, Shonda Donegan of Tolar, and grandchildren, Coco and Tripp; his nieces, Serina McEntire, D’Anna Swope, and Julie Essick; his nephews, Brandon and Christopher Essick, and David Saucedo. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to a fish & wildlife charity in memory of Steve.
