2020
Shirley Ann Sayre died suddenly, after a short illness, on January 5, 2020, leaving behind many heartbroken family and friends. To Shirley, acquaintances were friends and friends were family which is why most only knew her as Momma or Granny. Born on July 5, 1944, Shirley was every bit the firecracker her birthday predicted. Her zest for life touched everyone she met. While small in stature, Shirley commanded a room. She could instill attention more than any drill sergeant her grandsons met, and could celebrate with more vivacious dancing than those half her age. Shirley loved adventure, was most often found laughing, and loved having the last word in any argument. Shirley’s favorite times and favorite adventures involved her family and she loved them with every breath and with every ounce of everything she had. Shirley leaves behind her daughters: Bonita Mcleod and Angela Nuss (Gary). Grandchildren: Daniel Dozier (Ciarra Jackson); Shelia Mcleod (Anthony Rodriguez); Michelle Mcleod; Christopher Wilson (Alyssa); Andrew Wilson (Hailey); five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Brother Kenny Cain (Linda). Extended family and many, many friends. Shirley’s family invites you to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 11, 2020. A viewing will be from 1 to 1:30 pm, and services will begin at 2 pm at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St., Leesburg, Florida.
