Obituary Sallie Marie Riley, 85, of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away Monday January 6th, 2020 at the Bradford House Nursing Home in Bentonville. Sallie was born September 18th, 1934 in Crawfordville, AR, a daughter of Marcus M. Mitchell and Sallie S. Wardlow Mitchell. She was a widow of the late Jessie Lamar Riley, whom she married on April 11th, 1953 in Hernando, MS and preceded her in death in 2004. Sallie worked at Baldwin Piano for 30 years until she retired. Sallie then worked lovingly for Area Agency on Aging for another 15 years. Sallie loved crossword puzzles, western movies, and was known for loving a good joke and being very kindhearted. Sallie was also preceded in death by her parents, one son William Allen Riley, one grandson William Joseph Riley, two sisters Eva Pionke and Chris Draut, and two brothers George Mitchell and Marcus C. Mitchell. Sallie is survived by very close family friends Carolyn and husband George Hankins of Siloam Springs, AR and four grandchildren; Robert Stayton of Springdale, AR, Jerrod Hankins of Siloam Springs, AR, Georgianna Sherry of Prairie Grove, AR, and Misty Vaughn of Westville, OK. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Springdale on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be conducted at the National Cemetery at 12 PM in Fayetteville under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
