Ruth’s Obituary Ruth Nain Smith, 88, of Hurricane, West Virginia passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, West Virginia. She was born January 9, 1931 in Henrietta, Oklahoma to the late Eborg Hennell and Emma Marie Nelson Hennell. On September 24, 1950 she was united in marriage to Philip Smith who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Constance Lang and husband Greg of Waverly and Cynthia Cummings and husband John of Elkview, West Virginia; grandchildren, Brian (Molly) Lang and Adam Lang of Winslow, Illinois, Kristen (Azzie) Osborne of Waverly, Alan (Karen) Cummings of Winfield, West Virginia and Philip (Megan) Cummings of Statesville, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Karsten, Eli, Hailey and Cason. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Allerding and Joyce Nason. Ruth was a member of Teays Valley Church of God and was a member of Eastern Star Knox Chapter #236. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. An Eastern Star service followed by a funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. Rev.
