Roy’s Obituary Roy Allen Stevens March 20, 1952 – January 25, 2020 Roy went to be with his Lord and Savior on the evening of January 25, 2020. He was born to Lee Roy Stevens and Margaret Kinder Stevens in Patuxent River Naval Hospital in Maryland on March 20, 1952. He grew up in Jacksonville, FL near NAS. He graduated from Forrest High School in 1971. He married Faye Padgett on November 16, 1973. They had two sons, Jonathan and Jeremy. Roy was a long-time member of Yukon Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Jacksonville Fire Department and enjoyed it immensely. He spent his career working for various Freight Companies as a Dock Supervisor, Dispatcher, and Operations Manager, retiring from X-press Freight. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Kinder Stevens of Jacksonville, wife, Faye Stevens, two sons; Jonathan and Jeremy and wife, Robin. Two brothers; Ronnie and wife June, Mark and wife, Robin and one sister, Brenda Glennon, all from the Jacksonville area. Seven grandchildren, Garrett, Brandon, Cassidy, Grant, Graylie, Amelia and Rock and many nieces and nephews. His father, Lee Roy and brothers, Danny, Wayne and John preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at New Mt. Zion Church on Nathan Hale Road at 11:00am with Reverend Helen Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Burial will follow at Manning Cemetery. Read More
