Rosa (Aesch) Vergun, age 90, of Gloversville, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born in Gloversville on May 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Alex Aesch and Marie Moser Aesch. Rosa was a graduate of Mayfield Central Schools and received her Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from SUNY Cobleskill. She was a homemaker to her late husband and family. Mrs. Vergun was of the Baptist faith and attended Bible School. She is survived by her son David Vergun of Bristow, Virginia; two daughters Esther Kent Vergun and Deborah Vergun, both of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, one brother Richard Aesch (Sandra) of Gloversville, one sister Ruth Frasier of Perth and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosa was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Morris Vergun whom passed on December 7, 2006 and her two siblings Alex Aesch, Jr. and Mary Lock. At Mrs. Vergun’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
