Ronald Tim “Uncle Ronnie” Chestnut, 59 of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on January 28, 2020 at Monroe Hospital. Ronald was born on April 1, 1960 in Bloomington, IN to the late Robert Lee and Roxie Ann (Wilbur) Chestnut. He attended Bloomington High School South and went on to work for an excavating company for several years and later went to work for B&L Roofing. Ronald Started at B&L as a Journeyman Roofer in 1989 and as a member of the local union #119 in Bloomington. He worked with the company until he retired in 2015. Ronald’s family was the most important thing in his life, and he loved spending time with them, cooking out, going hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. Ronald never met a stranger and would do just about anything to help someone. His love and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Ronald was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Ronald is survived by his brothers, Robert Lee Chestnut, Jr. (Janice), Richard David Chestnut, and Randall Harrison Chestnut; nieces, Courtney McGlothlin (Joey), Whitney Tolliver (Phil), Brandi Chestnut (Jacob), and many other nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, Lexie, Brenden, Brilee “ Peanut”, Wyatt, and many more. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; and his cousins, Tony and Mike Arwine. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37, Bloomington, IN 47401. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
