Ronald Eugene Miller, age 79 of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Comfort House in Pella. The family will be hosting a celebration of Ron’s life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Monroe City Hall (206 West Sherman Street). Please feel free to stop by and share any special memories or just to visit. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald Miller Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com The son of Walter and Helen (Belcher) Miller, Ron was born on December 8, 1940 in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1959. On December 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to Bonnie J. Tool at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Ron worked for many years and in many capacities in the PCM School District, retiring in 2004. Ron enjoyed cooking, reading, fishing and camping. Those left to honor his memory include his two sons, Steve Miller and Scott (Ann) Miller; seven grandchildren, Reece (Kim) Miller, Ryan (Nicole) Vos, Zachary (Tiana) Vos, Nick, Matt, Emma and Anthony Miller; two great grandchildren, Eli and Audrey; a brother, Walter (Mary) Miller, Jr. and many nieces and nephews Preceding Ron in death were his parents, his wife, Bonnie in 2011, a son, Shane in 1992 and a brother Glen in 2014.
