Ronald Dean Reitler Monday January 27th 2020

Monday January 27th 2020
Our beloved husband, dad, uncle and friend went to heaven on Monday, January 27th, 2020 after a long fight with cancer. Ron was 61 years old. Throughout his life, Ron pursued many interests, ranging from the food industry to insurance to trucking. For 25 years, Ron cultivated many relationships, throughout the Northwest, while sharing his knowledge of living a better life through the selling of insurance in rural communities. Upon leaving the insurance business, Ron took up truck driving with his son Jake in North Dakota in the oil field for the past several years. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed fixing up older cars with his sons, Jesse, Jake and Jordan, as well as spending leisurely evenings sitting on the front porch with the love of his life, Kelly. Ron is known fondly as ‘1bzguy’ and loved by all whom his life touched. He was the kind of man you wish this world had more of–giving, kind and selfless. We will all miss him and know he is now in a place where he will never be limited again in all he wants to do. We love you and miss you already! Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Washburn, father, Elen Reitler, and sister and brother-in-law, Rae and Tony Silbernagel. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Kelly Reitler, their three sons, WO1 Jesse (Laura) Reitler, Jake (Rachel Ronan) Reitler, and Jordan Reitler. His loving grandchildren Isaiah, Matthew, Layla and Gideon. His sisters Toni (Greg) McNeal and Kris (Corey) Harris, stepbrothers, John Fox and Jim Fox and foster sister, Tami McCaslin, as well as many loved nieces, nephews and other family members. Services will be held, Friday, January 31st, 2020 at 2pm at the Laurel Smith’s Funeral Chapel with reception to follow at the Reitler’s home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial account has been set up at the Laurel Western Security Bank in Ron’s honor. Condolences for the family may be shared at smithfuneralchapels.com.
