On September 9, 1990, he married his surviving wife, Jodi L. (Yetter) Strawser with whom he was blessed to share over 29 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John M. Kauffman and his wife Holly of Del Norte, CO, Sarah K. Kauffman of Austin, TX, and Samuel W. Kauffman, Isaiah R.M. Kauffman, and Samuel W. Strawser, Jr “J.R.”. Mr. Strawser was a 1975 graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School and SUN Area Technical Institute in New Berlin. For over 40 years, he was a self employed residential construction framer in Texas and Pennsylvania working side by side with his good friend, Mike Brown. After that, he took his framing skills and became a cabinet maker for TeddWood in Mifflintown where he was employed until his passing. Bob was a member of the Brown’s United Methodist Church in McAlisterville, was very active in Pass the Salt Ministry with his wife, and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, enjoyed muzzleloader hunting, attending auctions, “wheeling and dealing,” and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In earlier life, he spent many years racing go karts, modifieds, and 410 Sprint Cars at several Central Pennsylvania Dirt Tracks with several feature wins. His racing legacy transitioned into helping with his son Sam’s racing career in go karts and sprint cars. The most important thing in Bob’s life was spending time with his friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren.
