Robert “Bob”‘s Obituary Robert “Bob” H. Krueger, age 85, of New Ulm, died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. Funeral service will be 11 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Jeffery Bovee will officiate, and burial will take place in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm. The visitation will be from 9:30-11 am on Saturday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is assisting the family. To leave an online condolence for his family, or to sign the guestbook, go to: www.mvfh.org Bob is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Elizabeth (Ronald) Hunt of Prior Lake, MN and Martha (David) Deibert of Menomonee Falls, WI; his grandchildren, Amy Deibert, Julia Hunt, Kayla Hunt, and Nathanael Hunt; and a sister, Carolyn (Phil) Kramer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his second mom, Gertrude Krueger. Robert Henry Krueger was born on March 18, 1934 in Manitowoc, WI to Henry and Nina (Christensen) Krueger. He graduated from Northwestern Prep School in Watertown, WI in 1952. Bob then furthered his education at Northwestern College, graduating in 1956. Following graduation, Bob enrolled in the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI, completing his studies in 1959. He was united in marriage to Helen Grunewald on July 20, 1957 in Watertown, WI. Bob started his career as a teacher at Michigan Lutheran Seminary. He then served as a Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkton, MI. Bob then was a teacher and principal at Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, WI. Following his time there, he worked at DMLC/MLC from 1971 to 2003, serving as a professor and the Financial Aid Director. Bob was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm and the New Ulm Country Club. He served on the church council and as an archivist, and was a board member at the country club. Bob also served on state and national financial aid committees. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, or the Krueger Scholarship Fund at Martin Luther College. www.mvfh.org Read More
