Richard’s Obituary MCDANIEL, Richard Glenn – of Davison, MI, age 80, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, January 31, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM – 3 PM and 5 PM – 8 PM Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Richard was born in Flint, MI on May 3, 1939, son of the late Dalton and Harriet (West) McDaniel. He married Jean Smith on June 14, 1958. Richard was a pilot, one of his hobbies was flying his airplane, which he built himself. He worked as a travel agent, traveling to many places including Rome (where once he saw Pope John Paul II), Greece, Aruba and other exotic destinations. Richard is survived by his wife, Jean (Smith) McDaniel; children, Cheryl Tasson, Scott McDaniel, Annette (Brien) McDaniel-Fox; three brothers; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy), Joseph and Riley; seven great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David McDaniel; sister, Delores (McDaniel) Kolinski and great-grandson, Brantley David Mayer.
